Under the D’Hondt system, this year’s top posts must go to a Sinn Fein and DUP councillor respectively.

The current Mayor is DUP man Councillor Darryn Causby and his deputy is Sinn Fein’s Catherine Seeley.

Committee chairpersons and vice-chairpersons will also be elected and positions of responsibility allocated at Monday night’s meeting.

Mr Keating (34) was co-opted onto the Armagh legacy council in 2013 and elected to the new ABC Council two years ago.
