Scott elected Chairman

NEWTOWNABBEY Mayor John Scott (right) has been elected Chairman of the South Antrim Ulster Unionist Association.

Alderman Scott, who represents the Macedon area, takes over the post from Antrim councillor Mervyn Rea.

At the Association’s recent AGM, Councillor Drew Ritchie was selected as Vice-Chair, Councillor Janet Crilly as Secretary and Paul Michael as Treasurer.

Meanwhile, it is understood that the Ulster Unionist Party’s candidate for South Antrim in the forthcoming general election will be either Councillor Adrian Watson or Philip Robinson.

A final decision on who will take on the DUP’s William McCrea in the Westminster poll is still to be made by the Party Executive.
