Runners raise £2600 for Macmillan Cancer Support

LOCAL girl Gemma Ritchie and her friend Catherine McPhillips, who are running the London Marathon, held a quiz night and auction at Hilden Brewery recently and raised £2600 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Cool FM’s Pete Snodden hosted the night with Nigel Ringland and Gareth Stewart and among the many items up for auction were a framed signed Ulster Rugby top, a signed golf score card by Rory McIlroy and Padraig Harrington, signed Ireland T-Shirt by Rory Best and Dennis Leamy plus ticket to Westlife and Steps. Ian Whitten from Ulster Rugby attended along with over 100 guests. In total the girls have so far raised £6,050.
