The ‘Golden Awards’ - held in Merville House to celebrate National Volunteers Week 2014 - were attended by around 70 volunteers from a variety of groups throughout Rathcoole.

Paul Dinsmore of Volunteer Now spoke at the event about the importance of volunteering and highlighted how the role of volunteering can take many different forms and can include many different age groups. He encouraged people to spread the word about the rewarding benefits of volunteering and asked them to encourage others to give a little time to groups in their areas.
