Portstewart homes plan refused
The application, at the former caravan site, at Old Coach Road, proposes to build 32 homes - 12 apartments in two blocks, six townhouses and semi-detached homes with private amenity space, landscaping, access and ancillary works.
There were 13 objections to the proposal from eight separate addresses.

Hide AdThe application was listed by planners as a refusal on the grounds that it had an unacceptable density.
Planners also listed ‘affordability issues with regard to the local population’, as a refusal reason.
Further reasons listed included the impact on the historic wall at the site, which dates back to the 1800’s and the fact that Portstewart town nor its local population will benefit from the proposal.
Members agreed with planners on the refusal.
At the same meeting, members gave the go ahead for repairs at war memorial in Coleraine.
