Police searches after paramilitary shooting in Newtownabbey

Detectives searched three addresses in Newtownabbey yesterday (Thursday, June 11) as part of an investigation into a paramilitary style attack in March, during which a 47-year-old woman was shot.

Detective Sergeant John Caddell said: “The addresses were searched and a number of items including mobile phones were seized. No one was arrested during the searches.

“This is very much a live investigation and we remain determined to bringing those who committed this crime before the courts. The woman faced two masked men during the attack and they acted with serious brutality, shooting her in both legs.
