Tests are currently being carried out on the bird of prey, amid reports that a dark coloured jeep was being driven in a suspicious manner in the area on the evening of Friday March 25.

Constable Hughes, who is investigating the incident, commented: “PSNI, along with partner agencies, has recently been involved in the launch of Operation Raptor, designed to pursue those who target birds of prey.

“I would encourage anyone with information about this incident to contact officers in Larne on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
