PICTURE GALLERY: Castle Youth Club's Family Fun Day success

CASTLE Community Centre in Ballymoney was full of life and activity on Saturday afternoon, as the Castle Youth Club's Family Fun Day got underway.

Residents turned out in numbers from 12.00 noon to 5.00pm to take part in a whole host of events planned for the afternoon.

Organisers ensured there was something for everyone, from face painting and balloon modelling to a bouncy castle and sumo wrestling, as well as fun competitions for all ages, ranging from babies to grannies.

Castle Community Association supported the Youth Club in the event and Chairman Dessie Hanna was delighted with the success of the Day.

He said: "Saturday was our first Fun Day since the area was included in the second phase of the Housing Executive's Shared Neighbourhood Programme and I am delighted that it was such a success. The day was planned with something for everyone in mind and so we had a really good turnout from local residents who joined in the fun and games.

"As a Shared Neighbourhood we want to promote neighbourliness in our community and our Fun Day was a great way to do this. I want to acknowledge the enthusiasm and hard work of the Youth Club in organising the event and thank everyone who shared in the afternoon. I want also to thank the Housing Executive for their support for the Fun Day.

"We were delighted that Mayor, Alderman Campbell was able to join us on Saturday and 'do the honours' of awarding prizes for the afternoon's competitions.
