Orangemen gear up for Twelfth demos in Bushmills and Armoy

NORTH Antrim Orangemen will gather in Bushmills on Monday of next week to celebrate the Twelfth of July.

Bands and Lodges from the districts of Cloughmills, Bushmills, Ballycastle, Ballymoney and Rasharkin will meet in the village - one of the most popular venues.

Around Forty four lodges will take part in the parade. They will be joined by 30 bands - and William and Mary are also expected to make an appearance.

The parade begins close to the caravan park on Castlecatt Road at 1pm and goes through the village to Clay Field, on the Whitepark Road.

A religious service will be held there at 2.30pm, conducted by Canon A A Johns.

The guest speaker will be Rev Robert Coulter, MLA.

Meanwhile, in Armoy, the Independent Loyal Orange Institution will hold its parade.

The assembly field at the Gracehill Road is where the parade will move off from at 1pm, and brethren will parade the village, returning back for the beginning of religious proceedings at 2.15pm.

A devotional service will take place and the resolutions will be read and proposed. Imperial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother RW Cyril Glass will then give the Grand Master’s address and the parade will leave the field at 4pm.
