Councillor challenges opponent of Ballyearl crematorium plan
In Genesis 22 v2 we read: “And he said (God to Abraham), take now thy son Isaac, whom thy lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.” Is this not the first recording of a cremation?
He took the wood and laid it upon his son and took the fire and a knife in his hand.

Hide AdThe Old Testament refers to many burials and types of burials. To replicate burials of Old Testament times is impossible. Many were buried in tombs and with air flowing through which caused the flesh to rot and to leave only the bones. The bones were collected and buried, sometimes they were ground to dust and scattered in other countries, so please stop the scaremongering and trying to associate it with Christianity.
As Cllr John Scott says in the article, the objection must be on planning grounds. I would urge those who are objecting to make out a case which has planning validity and present it to the planners which will be taken seriously.
