No army recruitment posters declined

JOBS Minister Dr Stephen Farry says there have been no reports of army recruitment posters being declined by job centre officials over the past month.

DUP MLA Gregory Campbell asked whether Job Centres accept Army Recruitment posters.

The Londonderry MLA also asked “whether there have been any reported incidents in the past month where offers of such posters have been declined.”

Dr Farry replied that his Department has a longstanding arrangement to promote both Army recruitment opportunities and those within the Armed Forces in general.

He explained that each office and centre has access to a dedicated Armed Forces Liaison Officer.

He also stated that his Department invited the Army Recruitment Service to take part in a Jobsfair in Belfast on November 21, 2012.

He stated: “I have checked with both the Employment Service and the Careers Service staff across the network and there have been no reported incidents of Army Recruitment posters being declined in the past month.

“Currently there is a range of information leaflets and posters displayed in the offices.”
