New website connecting older people
The Older People Connected site website, launched by the Bogside and Brandywell Health Forum, details the wide variety of events and programmes available throughout the entire Western Health and Social Care Trust area, covering Londonderry, Limavady, Strabane, Omagh and Fermanagh.
The site draws on the expertise of a range of local community and voluntary providers, including Bogside and Brandywell Health Forum, the Public Health Agency and the Western Health and Social Care Trust.

The site also connects providers and community groups and can be used as a signposting resource by medical services, support workers and families.
Mayor Elisha McCallion said: “I am fully aware of the many concerns that affect our older people, and the limitations they face in terms of accessing the appropriate support. These can range from mobility issues to safety concerns, which can leave them feeling isolated and unable to seek help.
“What’s different about the website is that not only does it seek to address welfare issues, it also offers information about opportunities to socialise and become active in the community.
