Claire O’Hanlon launched her blog in a bid to raise awareness of the daily struggle faced by families like hers.

Although heartbreaking to read, Claire’s story is also hugely inspirational as she pledges to do all she can to improve the outlook for her son Luke and countless others to have access to potentially lifesaving and life-extending drugs.

Detailing the moment when her worst fears were confirmed by doctors, Claire writes: “It was this moment that changed who I was, changed how I see the world and the people in it. The moment when my heart shattered into a million pieces and the moment I realised that a broken heart wasn’t the end of the world, it was just the beginning of a new one.”
