Man facing motoring charges

Mark McBurney (29), of Moorfields Road, faces charges of being in charge of a motor vehicle while unfit due to drink or drugs and failing to provide a specimen of breath during an investigation into whether he had committed an offence of being in charge while unfit.

He is further charged with driving while unfit due to drink or drugs and failing to provide a breath sample during an investigation into whether he had committed an offence of driving while unfit.

The offences are alleged to have taken place at Tully Road on January 24.

A defence solicitor indicated that McBurney will be pleading not guilty to the offences in due course.

McBurney’s case was adjourned until March 11 at Ballymena Magistrates Court.
