Man assaulted in Coleraine

Detectives in Coleraine are appealing for information following an assault that occurred in the early hours of Friday, April 18.

It has been reported that a 28-year-old man was taken from an unknown location in the town by a number of men, sometime between 1am and 2am.

He was then taken in an old style Vauxhall Astra to fields on the outskirts of town and assaulted.

The 28-year-old man managed to get away and later received medical treatment from the Ambulance Service for non-life threatening injuries.

Anyone with any information about this assault is asked to contact CID in Coleraine Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
