Magherafelt woman convicted of benefit fraud
A Magherafelt woman has been convicted of benefit fraud at Magherafelt Magistrates Court after claiming benefits that she was not entitled to.
The court heard how Adele Brown, who’s 29-years-old, and from Loughill in Magherafelt claimed Income Support totalling £5,051 while failing to declare employment to the Social Security Office.
She was given a 12 month conditional discharge when she appeared at court on July 4.
She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
