Leathem’s Mace raises a mountain of money for charity

A RAFFLE for a mountain bike at Leathem’s Mace Lisburn recently raised an impressive sum of money for local charity The Compassionate Friends.

The charity, which supports bereaved families following the death of a child, benefited from more than £500 raised in store over a few weeks, in a competition to win the mountain bike, which was won by local man Chris McEvoy.

The store decided to raffle the bike, given as a gift to the store, to raise money for a worthwhile charity, settling on The Compassionate Friends on recommendation of a regular customer who volunteers for the charity.

Speaking about the raffle, store owner Richard said: “We are pleased that The Compassionate Friends will benefit from more than £500 because of it. We’d love to do more work like this in our community and get involved in more projects. I also hope Chris enjoys the bike.”
