LATEST: New school name announced

The Interim Board of Govenors of the new co-educational voluntary grammar school in Coleraine have today (Wednedsday), announced that the new school will be called Coleraine Grammar School.

We reported earlier this week that current Inst principal Dr David Carruthers has been appointed as the principal of the school.

In May last year Coleraine High School and Coleraine Academical Institution published development proposals to establish the new school and the Minister for Education approved these proposals in September 2014.

An Interim Board of Governors was formed with equal representation from each school to do the work necessary to establish the new school ready for opening in September 2015.

The new school will be sited at Coleraine Inst.
