Larne congregation supports South Sudan Appeal

The Rector of St Cedma’s Parish Larne, Archdeacon Stephen Forde (right), with Rev Harold Sharp (left) and members of the Wednesday morning congregation, present Jenny Smyth (second from the left) of CMS Ireland with a cheque for £3,700.

The money was raised by Larne parishioners to support the South Sudan Crisis Appeal, sponsored by the Connor Diocese through CMSI to provide emergency support (food, blankets, medicines and cooking utensils) for the refugees of South Sudan, fleeing the violent conflict in the North of their country.

St Cedma’s parish has a particular partnership with Bishop Hilary of Yei in the south of Africa’s newest nation, where over 10,000 refugees have taken refuge and are being fed and given shelter by the church community of Yei town. INLT 10-626-CON
