Around about 80 people turned out to see the bluebells and to find out about the plant life, wildlife, the history of the woodland and the work of the local Red Squirrel group.

“This was one of our largest attendances to date at any of our events. People were commenting on the fact that it is great to see the different generations out together enjoying nature and the beauty of the woodland. The very large turnout provides evidence of the interest in and the benefits of having a community asset such as Prehen woodland and is proof of the high level of support that exists for the ancient woodland preservation campaign,” said George McLaughlin, organiser, who thanked the participants and St. John Ambulance volunteers for being in attendance.
