Elected
A GOOD attendance and representation from companies saw a successful council meeting at the beginning of the new session and the election of Battalion Office Bearers. President Dr Mark Hancock updated the members on important matters arising from the recent National BB Council, which was held in Armagh, and the following officials were re-elected, including Mr Douglas Barr (Chaplain), Mr Fred Sands (Christian Education Officer), Mr Leslie McCullough (Treasurer), Captain Derek Thompson (Training Convenor), Mr Roy Constable (Recreation Officer), Lt George Bibb (Duke of Edinburgh Officer), Captain Ean Kirk (Queen's Badge Advisor), Lt Andrea Jennett, (Anchor Boy and Junior Section Convenor), Mr John Garvin (NIR Battalion Representative) and Lt Glynn Williamson (NIR Battalion Junior Section Representative).

Hide AdIN preparation for this session's battalion boxwork and novice drill competitions, a demonstration evening is planned (DV) at High Street Methodist church halls on Thursday, September 30 at 8pm. All interested companies are requested to bring sufficient staff and members to this important night.

Nominations required
All companies that reside in the Craigavon Council area will have received details of this year's Mayor's Award. This is to recognise outstanding voluntary service within the community and can include youth work, care for the elderly or disabled, fundraising for charity, helping with a community group, etc. All units are encouraged to nominate a deserving person by Friday, October 8.
