Hunter welcomes funds for Ballycastle

Chairperson of Moyle District Council, Councillor Sandra Hunter has welcomed news that the Department of Social Development is to fund a £250,000 Revitalisation scheme for Ballycastle.

Councillor Hunter said: “Moyle District Council is delighted to be awarded £250,000 from the Department of Social Development for a Revitalisation scheme in Castle Street and Clare Street, Ballycastle.

“Moyle District Council have been working with the Ballycastle Revitalise Steering Group for several months now to secure this funding for those businesses in the area targeted for the scheme.

“Over the coming months Moyle District Council and the Steering Group look forward to working with the local traders to draw up a programme of works to improve the streetscape of the area, as well as developing a marketing and promotional campaign to promote the area as a destination for shoppers and visitors.
