Hardy slams Ahoghill bomb attacks

Councillor Patrice Hardy has said that it is “extremely fortunate that we are not waking up to death or injury” after a number of explosive devices were left in Ahoghill.

Two properties were targeted in the village’s Brookfield Gardens area in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Cllr. Hardy said that those behind the attacks showed diregard for the local community.

“Reports of a number of explosions in Ahoghill are very worrying,” Cllr. Hardy said.

She added: “We are extremely fortunate that we are not waking up to death or injuries this morning.

“Those behind these incidents cared little for the community they attacked.

“While endangering life we also now have families evacuated from their homes.

“I would appeal for anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious last night to bring that to the PSNI.

“Those behind such attacks need to be taken off our streets.”
