Govan Songsters to visit the town

Lurgan Salvation Songsters (choir) are delighted to host Govan Citadel Songsters on April 5 and 6.

Govan Citadel have a fine tradition of making music to the glory of God through their band and choir. This will be the first time Scotland’s premier Salvation Army choir have visited Lurgan.

Govan Songsters have toured in Norway, Canada and The Netherlands, led evangelistic campaigns in many UK locations and have produced CDs.

Govan Citadel Songsters are led by Chic Ramsay, whose son Fraser married a local girl and settled in the town.

The choir will be accompanied by their Executive Officer, Commissioner Keith Banks, who has been a Salvation Army Officer for over 40 years.

Over that long ministry, the Commissioner has led churches, been involved in youth work, denominational leadership at regional and national levels in the UK and in Papua New Guinea, and has been the Secretary for Personnel at The Salvation Army’s International Headquarters.

Commissioner Banks is a gifted and gentle man of God, whose spoken and written word convey wisdom and a depth of spirituality.

The concert takes place on Saturday, April 5 at 7pm and costs £6.

In addition to their concert on Saturday, Govan Songsters will be leading worship at The Salvation Army in Union Street at 11.15am and 3pm on Sunday. Everyone is 
welcome.
