LISBURN City Council is hosting a Family Fun Day in Wallace Park this Saturday, September 3, from 2pm–4pm.

It will be a culmination of all the arts and the drama, dance and music acts that have performed in the park over the last month.

Councillor Thomas Beckett, Chairman of the Leisure Services Committee, said: “This free event will offer families in the Lisburn area an enjoyable afternoon to mark the end of the summer holidays. There will be bouncy boxing, a bouncy castle and inflatable football sponsored by Coca Cola.

“The craft workshops will include making flowers from recycled Coca Cola bottles, creating plasticine sculptures and decorating shortbread. The young people will be able to have their faces painted, receive a balloon model and watch the ‘Rainbow Bubble Fairy’ stilt walk her way through Wallace Park.

“Throughout the course of the day various musical and dance acts will be performing at the band stand area. These include ‘Age on Stage’, Bollywood Dancers and local musicians: Tanya and the Whiskey Princess, Millar and the Roots Collective and the headline band ‘Katy and the Carnival’ seven piece band,” he concluded.

Lisburn City Council would like to see as many residents as possible participate in these family celebrations this weekend.
