Events planned for Magee’s 150th

This year Ulster University is celebrating 150 years of teaching, learning and research at the Magee campus.

To mark this significant milestone, the University is hosting a number of on campus events that are open to the public from Thursday, October 15 to Saturday, October 17, 2015.

As part of the three-day celebration, a public lecture and historical guided tour will provide a rich insight into the Magee campus architecture and notable alumni and patrons.

The University will also open its robotics, engineering and renewable energy labs allowing schoolchildren and members of the public to find out more about studying at Ulster University, as well as its range of world-leading research.

The arts will take centre stage with public readings, a contemporary performance from the Austin’s Project who took part in the successful City of Culture 2013, and live music performances by Ulster University staff and students.

A dedicated library exhibition will also display special collections telling the story of the founding of the college from 1815 to 1865.
