Alderman condemns dumping at graveyard
DUP Alderman Gary Middleton has condemned recent fly dumping at old Glendermott graveyard on Trench Road.
“It’s disgraceful that one of our historical burial grounds has been the target of illegal dumping. This site is visited throughout the year by many people who want to pay their respects and is also a heritage site as a past Governor of the city, Colonel Mitchelburne, who formed the first Apprentice boys of Derry Club is buried there. I call on the perpetrators to reflect on their actions. With several civic amenity sites throughout the city, there’s no excuse for this type of illegal activity.”
