Elaine Anderson, 26, and her colleagues Sarah Brunston and Francesca Whaley, will be swapping their high heels for trainers, when they step out to take part in the 2015 Hospice Walk on 28th March.

There’s 11 walks taking place at various locations in Northern Ireland on Saturday March 21 and March 28, raising vital funds for the Northern Ireland Hospice, which is undergoing a £13m rebuild on Belfast’s Somerton Road.

Speaking about her reasons for taking part, Elaine said: “My dad was cared for by the Northern Ireland Hospice in September 2014 for two weeks before he sadly passed away on 27th September. The support our family received was amazing so I just wanted to raise some money for the work that they do because I know it made a major difference to us.

“My two colleagues and I felt this would be a great way to remember my Dad whilst also having some fun and getting fit together!”

This year the NI Hospice Walk campaign aims to raise £110,000, which is needed to help support the charity’s annual fundraising target of over £6m. NI Hospice needs to raise a further £1.8m for the rebuild of the charity’s Adult Hospice, so this year’s Walk has an extra special challenge.

This year’s walks are sponsored by Creighton’s of Finaghy, Kilwaughter Chemical Company, Mauds Ice Cream and Downtown Radio.
