Drunk male arrested after reports from staff

Last Friday afternoon (December 4) CCTV Operators in Lisburn received a report from security staff of a supermarket in the Sprucefield area.

The staff reported that there was a drunk male at the store who was being abusive to staff as they wouldn’t serve him alcohol.

The male then left the store and got into a vehicle.

Whilst driving away, the male struck a parked vehicle at the supermarket.

Local CCTV staff then circulated the details of the offending vehicle to all police in the area.

The offending vehicle was then stopped by police on the A1 dual carriageway.

The driver was arrested for Driving Whilst Unfit and Failing to Stop, Remain and Report an Road Traffic Collision (RTC).

He was then arrested and transferred to a local custody suite for further interview,
