Two cars collided on the Strand Road area at approximately 10pm (Sunday, December 21, 2014) . It is believed one car was travelling along the Strand Road and the other was emerging from flats on the opposite side of the road when the collision took place.

As a result both cars ended up spinning towards the Cafe Roc bar and nightclub with one of the vehicles striking the wall of the premises and the other stopping inches from the door of the premises.

One eyewitness said that it was fortunate that no one was passing by on foot at the time or smoking outside the bar, otherwise the consequences could have been drastic.

Both vehicles have now been removed from the scene for further examination.

There are no current updates on the nature of the injuries sustained by those inside the vehicles, but the Journal understands they are not thought to be serious.
