PSNI appeal on burglaries and arson

Detectives at Strand Road are appealing for information about two burglaries.

Two houses at Whitebridge Park on the Coshquin Road were broken into between 7.30pm on Tuesday and 3.30pm on Wednesday, May 14.

A PSNI spokesman said: “In one house a baby’s room was ransacked and a Nintendo DS was stolen. It is believed a bottle green Spar Bag for life was used to carry the goods away. Jewellery and cash were stolen from the house next door.”

Anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Meanwhile, Police are appealing for information following an arson attack at vacant premises in the Donnybrewer Road, Campsie area of Londonderry on Wednesday, May 14.

“At approximately 5.40pm police received a report that the former car dealership was on fire. Extensive damage was caused to the building,” the PSNI spokesman said, adding: “A male youth was arrested in relation to the incident and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.”
