Initially the company will have Martin’s and Y Team sections only (up to 10 years) but this will obviously change as the boys get older.

The company has currently fourteen members but numbers are expected to grow as the company becomes established.

The Church Lads’ Brigade meets on Thursday evenings at 7pm in the Hilden Centre, Grand Street and the Officer in Command is Aimee Gibson, the parish’s ‘Children, Youth & Young Families Worker’.

Assisting her are fellow officers Margaret Strong, David Smyth, David Taylor and Daniel Taylor.

The Church Lads’ Brigade is actually now the Church Lad’s and Church Girls’ Brigade.

But the new company is not enlisting girls as there is already a strong Girls’ Brigade company in the parish.

This meets in the Church Hall on Saturday mornings (Babies & Explorers) and Wednesday evenings for Juniors upwards, under their captain, Patricia Willis.

The Church Lads’ and Church Girls’ Brigade (CLCGB), often referred to as ‘The Brigade’, is The Anglican Churches own uniformed youth organisation: welcoming children and young people of all faiths and none.
