Certificates for enterprising coastal residents

NINE local people who completed an Exploring Enterprise 2 programme in the Glenlough Hall, in Carnlough, have been successful in gaining a CCEA Level 2 qualification in Understanding Business Enterprise.

The Mayor Councillor Gerardine Mulvenna has acknowledged the programme’s success in the Carnlough area, saying: “On behalf of the Council, I congratulate all who have received this qualification.

“I applaud their determination to undertake this programme and their effort to improve their employment prospects and to consider the option of self-employment.

“Working with partners such as LEDCOM, Larne Borough Council is focussed on improving the quality of life for everyone in the Borough, providing opportunities for all to reach their potential.”

LEDCOM EEP Programme Coordinator, Patricia Brennan commented: “EEP2 aims to help people into sustainable employment or self-employment through mentoring, training and by gaining a recognised qualification; I’m delighted that the programme has achieved and exceeded its objectives in Carnlough.”

The next exploring enterprise 2 programme will be taking place in Larne in January 2013, it is open to anyone currently unemployed or working 16 hours or less a week.
