Cash for Kids appeal at Asda

CUSTOMERS at the Larne branch of Asda are being asked to help support disadvantaged children this Christmas.

The Cash for Kids Mission Christmas appeal has been launched in association with Downtown Radio/Cool FM.

Since 2009, Asda stores across NI have raised almost £114,000 through their fundraising efforts for Cash for Kids - including a recent donation of £1,500 as a result of Asda’s partnership with tea supplier, Punjana, who donated five pence from every pack of tea sold.

Darren Cochrane, General Store Manager at Asda Larne, commented, “The Cash for Kids ‘Mission Christmas’ appeal is incredibly important to thousands of children and young people across Northern Ireland and we’re truly delighted to lend our support again this year.

“Our colleagues are passionate about giving something back to the community that we live and work in and Cash for Kids ‘Mission Christmas’ is the perfect choice, helping to support those who need it most right here in Northern Ireland.

“We’re encouraging our customers to help make this campaign a success so we can help brighten the lives of so many by making sure they have a present to open on Christmas Day.”

Darren Fowler, Downtown Radio and Cool FM’s Charity Manager, said, “Cash for Kids ‘Mission Christmas’ is all about keeping the Christmas dream alive for disadvantaged children in Northern Ireland who, without the appeal, would wake up with nothing this Christmas.
