Anne and Ruby amongst locals making a difference across the Trust

ONE hundred and fifty volunteers have been recognised for giving their time meeting and greeting, acting as meal time friends, providing complementary care and breastfeeding peer support across the Western Trust.

He said: “I really enjoy volunteering, helping young people organise opportunities which will help them to develop their careers.”

Philip N. Annadurai is a qualified Medical Laboratory Technician originally from India. who four years ago relocated to Londonderry with his family.

Now volunteers on a ward at Altnagelvin Hospital.

Olivia Hesketh is 17 years old and lives in Eglinton. She’s volunteered at Altnagelvin since last year and is hoping to study medicine at University.

Olivia said: “In Altnagelvin, the best part of my role is definitely being able to sit down and chat with the patients in the ward, it’s really nice being able to keep them company.”
