An elegant evening for the Ravarnette ladies

AT the April meeting of Ravarnette WI, the ladies hosted a ‘hospitality night’ when a warm welcome was extended to visitors from other local institutes.

Speaker Eleanor Harrison brought examples of her beautiful handmade patchwork quilts.

She explained how she used fabrics and colours and the technique behind the making of the quilts.

Eleanor judged the competition for an ‘elegant cushion’ and the winners were Majorie Howarth, in first place, Brenda Gillespie in second and Marina McKeown, third.

The ballot winner was Rosaline Gabbie.

A delicious buffet supper was provided by committee members and Ravarnette WI later conducted their own short business time.
