Amendments to Christmas grants scheme
A Council report said: ‘The scheme is somewhat a victim of its own success in that in 2009, Council received 27 applications for a total pot of 3,000, rendering the actual awards to individual groups rather small.’
The report said the guidelines emphasise that the intention of the grants scheme is to support those groups who wish to provide for older people at Christmas time and is not intended for the purposes of groups who wish to provide solely for their own members.
