Apart from the significant cost of replacement to the ratepayer, this mindless destruction is potentially putting people’s lives at risk. These throw lines are strategically placed along the riverbank for use in an emergency situation. A missing or damaged throw line obviously jeopardizes the chance of a successful rescue.
“I would appeal to any members of the public who witness such mindless behaviour to report it to the local Police Service and Coleraine Borough Council straightaway.”
To report a missing throw line, contact Coleraine Borough Council or the PSNI.
