10 years on Liam’s sit out is going strong

The local sports pundit gets this year’s campaign underway on 12th December and he is hoping to raise thousands of pounds for several charities which are very dear to his heart.

“What keeps me going is the charities when they receive their money and come back and tell me the work they have been able to do, that makes me delighted.

“The charities are St. Vincent De Paul and the Samaratins, of which I am an ambassador. There’s Can Can Compass group, they are a local group and I love them to bits. I’m also their Patron. Then there is the Salvation Army and Drop In Ministeries.

“When you see the hard work the volunteers do, what I do is nothing in comparison.

“The support I get from the public is unbelievable. I get things underway on 11th December as Roadside Garages, Coleraine are holding a breakfast for me and that will be a good boost and I am indebted to them.

“I’ve had my first donation already from a chap who drove up from Lurgan and the Press Golf Association also donated to the Black Santa.

“I love it when folk come and chat to me, it helps the day pass. I’ve had people come from all over the Province to make donations which is humbling.

“Every year the total goes up so you always want to beat the previous year so hopefully this year is no exception.

“I do need to thank Causeway Coast and Glens Council and Danske Bank, Ballymoney for all their help, I really couldn’t do it without their support.”
