Group celebrates cash boost

Age on Stage, the Island Arts Centre-based contemporary dance group for people over 60, are celebrating after receiving a cheque of £710 from the Tesco Charity Trust.

The group have earmarked the money for much needed equipment to enhance and promote their performances which take place by invitation at community groups and residential homes locally and further afield.

September saw the start of the autumn term for Age on Stage with dance classes continuing on Fridays from 11.30am – 12.45pm at the Island Arts Centre’s Dance Studio.

Everyone is welcome, including complete beginners, to one or all classes, no need to book. Class fees are £5 for the first class and if newcomers decide to join the group, it costs a further £15 for the remaining four classes in the session.

Participants are advised to wear loose, comfortable clothing, soft/flat shoes and bring some water to drink.
