Ballymena store wins National Customer Service Award

The Spar in Cullybackey has won a high profile national award for its outstanding levels of customer service.

The store is owned by the family run Henderson Group organisation, owners of the Spar and Eurospar franchises in Northern Ireland.

The Cullybackey store is run by Manager Laura McClean, claimed the Best Customer Service prize at the national 2014 Convenience Retail Awards, organised by trade publications Convenience Store and The Grocer.

The awards recognise excellence within the convenience store industry.

Judges were bowled over by the level of engagement that staff had, making sure that every customer need was catered for.

The high level of staff training was apparent as was the level of communication to shoppers on promotions, new products and additional services.

Judges were also impressed with the free delivery service for orders of over £10 and the branded uniforms that encouraged customers to ask staff questions.

The awards were judged by a panel of retail experts and this category was sponsored by wholesale cash & carry operator Bestway.
