Scrub bags created for NHS workers

Well known Lisburn photographer has been putting his skills to good use and has been providing hundreds of scrub bags to frontline workers.

Ronnie Beattie, who also runs a small print business from his home, heard about the need for bags that staff could put their uniform in at the end of their shift.

Keen to help out at this difficult time, Ronnie decided to see what he could do to help out.

“It started off with four draw string bags that I had in my studio that were left over from an order of football kit bags, so I decided to use them for something different,” explained Ronnie. “I went online, took a few images and put them together to make the image that is on the front of the bags now.

“I put a post on my Facebook and asked if there was anyone from the NHS that would like a bag for their scrubs. The response was high so I gave them to the first four people to call. Then I decided to purchase a further 20 of them and hand them out, next thing I know a lot of people where messaging me asking if they could donate for more bags to be done.

“At present I have purchased 1000 bags, which have gone to City Hospital, Musgrave, Lagan Valley A&E and Maternity and there are some going to local nursing homes and Craigavon Area Hospital.

“The staff are very grateful as this will help them to get changed at work and put their scrubs into the bag to stop contamination.”
