Springsteen fans look forward to experiencing the 'Human Touch' in Lisburn

BOSS lookalike Mickey Devlin will be bringing his Springsteen tribute show 'Human Touch' to the Island Hall on Saturday September 25.

Mickey, who is originally from Cookstown, formed the tribute band Human Touch named after the 1992 Bruce album. They are the first band in Ireland to exclusively perform the million selling songs that have taken Springsteen from Asbury to Glastonbury.

It is Glory Days for them as they are packing in the crowds with fanatical fans of the all-American blue-collar favourite rocker. Over a two-year period Mickey learnt 30 of the songs that made Springsteen the world's greatest recording and performing artist and after placing a wanted advert in an online free ads site found the members to replicate the E-Street Band.

Mickey said he is overwhelmed by the response the band is receiving which is testament to the esteem of the Boss in Ireland. "I am blown away from I hit the stage playing Born to Run to I end the show two hours later with the River," he said. "The audience know every word; they just go crazy such is the popularity of Springsteen."

Mickey admits that learning the songs and forming the band wasn't as difficult as going from 14 stone to 12.5 stone after an intensive workout routine in the gym. As well he had to study hours of Springsteen video footage to perfect the mannerisms, moves on stage, holding of the guitar and re-styling his hair to match his idol.

The band consists of Noel McLean on Banjo and Lead Guitar; Terri Holland on Keyboards; Mickey McGurk on Drums; Eugene McConigle on Bass; plus three backing singers. They play songs from the 61 year old New Jersey crooner's repertoire including the favourite anthems like Born in the USA, Dancing in the Dark, Hungry Heart and Old Dan Tucker from the Seeger Session album.

With Springsteen currently on a break from touring after the Working on a Dream tour ended late last year, fans may have a long wait to see the real Boss again. In the meantime Mickey Devlin will provide a Brilliant Disguise.

Human Touch play the Island Hall in Lisburn this Saturday 25 September at 8.00pm and tickets are on sale now from the Box Office on 9250 9254.
