McFly rock the Odyssey - That’s the truth!

CHART-TOPPERS McFly rocked the Odyssey Arena last Sunday night when they arrived in Belfast with their Above the Noise Tour.

And the band really did have to rock out to be heard ‘above the noise’ of their fans who danced and cheered throughout the night, singing along to every word. After nearly eight years since their first release, McFly have certainly grown as a band in that time, enjoying seven number one singles, multi-platinum albums, yet they remain genuinely nice guys. Their latest offering has taken the band in something of a new direction, with the recent hit ‘Shine A Light’ seeing them collaborate with Taio Cruz. However, the more mature McFly still know how to party as they produced a fun - and at times fiery - show at the Odyssey, packed with all the hits and several superb new songs from the latest album. The handsome four-piece, Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd, as always, played live throughout the night, displaying great musical ability as they made their way through hits such as ‘Party Girl’, ‘Five Colours In Her Hair’, ‘Star Girl’, ‘Obviously’, as well as recent single, the magnificent ‘That’s The Truth’ and new tracks ‘Nowhere Left to Run’, ‘iF U C Kate’ and ‘I Need A Woman,’ a sexy adult-pop track, which sounds like a throwback to the 50’s with it’s Motown enthused melody. The band also included some of their biggest hits, prompting a fan sing-along with ‘All About You’ and ‘The Heart Never Lies’, as the McFly name blazed behind them in flames, sending already high temperatures soaring. A walkway took each of the four McFly boys over the audience, from which they performed several hits, as well as practising their shooting skills as they fired out t-shirts into the crowd, much to the delight of the fans below. Thanking fans for their understanding after the guys had to reschedule the Belfast date from March, the band ended the night with the recent massive hit ‘Shine A Light’, as the fans went wild. A superb show from a superb band - and that’s the truth! [email protected]
