Hooley-gan launches new talent

THE Godfather of Punk in Northern Ireland, Terri Hooley, always has his eye on up and coming musicians.

Since signing The Undertones to his landmark Good Vibrations label and releasing their first single Teenage Kicks, Terri has gained legendary status for spotting emerging talent.

Having just released his autobiography 'Hooleygan', Terri is launching a new single on his historic label – from local rocker John D'Arcy.

Hooley believes D'Arcy is set to follow in the footsteps of Northern Ireland hitmakers, Snow Patrol, Van Morrison, Ash and, of course, The Undertones.

To date D'Arcy has been known as a quirky singer-songwriter but his new single has the power-pop, punk energy synonymous with the Good Vibrations label.

Produced by Rocky O'Reilly at the Start Together Studio in the Oh Yeah Music Centre, the new single features heavy guitars, booming drums, pulsating bass and brash in-your-face lyrics.

On the single D'Arcy is supported by his Great Bunch of Lads – Chris Bateman on bass and Thomas Camblin on drums.

Hooley launched the single at his Good Vibes record shop in Winetavern Street on October 16 with a live performance.

Limited edition copies of the Get Over Yourself single, signed by Hooley and D'Arcy are available from Good Vibes Records, Winetavern Street, Belfast and on digital download from www.johndarcy.com.
