Glam rock takes over the Waterfront

Sweet, also referred to as The Sweet were a British Rock Band that rose to worldwide fame in the 1970’s as a prominent Glam Rock Band.

Sweet were formed in 1968 and teamed up with songwriters Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman in 1971, together with record producer Phil Wainman.

The band achieved notable success in the UK Charts with hits including Little Willy, Wig Wam Bam, Block Buster!, The Ballroom Blitz, Teenage Rampage, Turn It Down, Fox On The Run. Their last Top 10 hit was Love Is Like Oxygen in 1978, before disbanding in 1981.

In 1985, Andy Scott reformed his own version of Sweet, and the band continue to tour extensively.

They will be joined on the night by Mud II, featuring members Of Les Gray’s Mud, were formed in 2005 after consultation with original band members and Les Gray’s estate, after he passed away on February 21, 2004.

The band perform all the well loved hits, with tight vocal harmonies and gritty guitar work in a perfectly replicated show that will have everyone stomping their Tiger Feet.
