Gaelscoil talent on show at Feis na nGleann
The school also won the Dan Laverty memorial trophy for the third year in a row with a traditional music group.
Brídín Ní Dhonnghaile, Principal of the school, explained that the school feels that performance is an important part of children’s personal and cultural development and as usual it was important for Gaelscoil an Chaistil to support Feis na nGleann, which attracts competitors from as far away as Belfast.

“Within the school we strongly encourage children to become involved with performance and organise tin whistle classes and singing as part of our after school activities.
“In this way we hope that the very high percentage of young Gaelic speakers who are involved with traditional music goes from strength to strength and we are keen to build on this as many of our past pupils go on to excel in music and performance, both in traditional and classical areas.
“We are delighted with the results once again this year and hope that their success encourages the children on to even greater things.”
