Coleraine Music Festival starts next week

COLERAINE Music Festival begins in Coleraine Town Hall next week.

The Speech and Drama section will be held from Wednesday, March 7 to Thursday, March 15. The Music section will run from Monday, March 19 to Friday, March 23.

The adjudicators are Margaret J. Smith who will judge the Music competitors and Philip Thrupp overseeing the Speech and Drama.

Margaret has been widely involved with music teaching and performance at the highest level and she has a passionate interest in vocal music and choral music in particular.

She is an adjudicator member of the British and International Federation of Festivals and is delighted to be involved with the Coleraine Music Festival for the first time.

Philip is no stranger to Coleraine and also has a lot of experience with festivals all over the world, having adjudicated in Sri Lanka, Cape Town, Los Angeles and Singapore.

He is an examiner with Trinity Guildhall and was recently awarded a Fellowship of the Society of Teachers of Speech and Drama.
