Berries for the birdies
As the days get shorter, colder and wetter, we are less likely to venture into our gardens. We will only view our gardens from the comfort of our warm homes.
Plants which are evergreen or attractive foliage will keep our gardens looking good during winter. Plants which have berries and ornamental fruits are interesting and provide foodfor the wild birds.
Some of these which are readily available are cotoneaster, pyracantha, pernettya, holly, skimmia, gaultheria, cornus, malus and sorbus. Most of these can be seen in the garden centre.

Hide AdBird feeders can also be used in the garden over the winter period to compliment the berries and fruits already provided by nature.
