Since then Florence & The Machine, Tom Jones, Kasabian, Nine Inch Nails, Paolo Nutini, 30 Seconds to Mars and David Guetta have all headlined, meaning expectations for this years festival are at an all time high. However, organisers are confident Belsonic 2014 will boast the festival’s strongest line up to date!

Friday, August 15 is headlined by Example.

It has been a full-on 12 months for Example, AKA Elliot Gleave, and the pressure shows no sign of letting up. Two sold-out British arena tours, a triumphant homecoming show at Earls Court stadium, and a brand new LP ready for release, entitled “Live Life Living”.

Musically, immersion in old flames such as Faithless, the Prodigy, Black Box, Soul II Soul and Technotronic reconnected Example with the notion of dance music becoming, in a live setting, an experience that has more in common with a rock show than today’s reductive and generic EDM offerings, and this is fully on show with the new LP.

Sunday, August 17 features Biffy Clyro, Twin Atlantic and Little Matador.

The story of Biffy Clyro is as romantic as it is archetypal. Three childhood friends from Ayrshire formed a band, delivered three albums of abrasive youthful exuberance and finally cracked the big time when their fourth – 2007’s Puzzle – hit the charts at Number Two. By the time the promotion of their fifth album Only Revolutions had ceased, they were bona fide stars who could deliver hit singles in an era in which rock bands rarely trouble the charts.

2013’s Opposites propelled the trio to a whole new level as it debuted at Number One – suddenly Biffy Clyro had joined the elite category of bands who could repeatedly fill arenas (their most recent sold-out tour culminated with a gargantuan show at London’s O2 Arena), headline major festivals (Reading, Leeds and Radio 1’s Big Weekend in 2013 alone) and earn waves of awards (Best Band at the NME Awards, Best Album at the Kerrang! Awards).

Monday August 18 see headliners Kodaline joined by Tom Odell and Black Rivers.

Dublin quartet Kodaline have enjoyed a remarkably fast rise to fame, culminating with a sold out show at Dublin’s O2 Arena last month. Debut LP ‘In A Perfect World’ features ‘High Hopes’ and ‘Love Like This’ two of the biggest singles released by an Irish act in recent years and as a result, they’re set for a massive summer of high profile festival appearances.

Kodaline are joined by Brit award winning singer songwriter Tom Odell, whose debut LP “Long Way Down” shot straight to number one in the UK charts on its release in June 2013. The bill will be opened by Black Rivers.

Tuesday, August 19 sees the return of Chic featuring Nile Rogers and on Wednesday, August 20 Queens Of The Stone Age take to the stage with support from Brody Dalle and the Minutes.

On Friday, August 22 Imagine Dragons round off Belsonic.

The Las Vegas based quartet were undoubtably one of 2013’s biggest commercial breakthrough artists. The band’s Grammy nominated debut LP ‘Night Visions’ is certified gold in the UK, thanks partly to ‘Radioactive’, one of the biggest selling UK singles of last year.

Tickets priced from £27.50 plus booking fee are on sale from www.belsonic.com, Ticketmaster outlets, www.ticketmaster.ie and The Stiff Kitten.
